Man arrested for Lawrence tree branch assault
A Kansas City, Mo. Man was arrested early Tuesday after a woman reported she was approached by a man carrying a large tree branch, Lawrence police said.
The woman told police the incident happened as she was walking to work in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street, in Downtown Lawrence.
“The victim reported that the man held the branch in a threatening manner and spoke aggressively to her,” said Kim Murphree, Lawrence police spokeswoman. The victim told police she ran to her business when the suspect turned his head.
Corey Martin, 36, was arrested for aggravated assault. Formal charges have not been filed in the case.
